There has been a tragic and unnecessary conflict between Christians and churches concerning the doctrine of Predestination, which finds its origins in today's passage. Given the ferocity of the debate, we might forget that the message of our predestination by God is found within a doxology - a praise passage celebrating the goodness of God! For some, a polarized view of how God's choice relates to human choice can actually make God seem cruel, even in a passage meant to do the opposite. In this two-part study, Trevor hopes neither to deny nor magnify the doctrine; to recognize its promise, but avoid it as a focal point of our faith.
