Taking a break from the prayer series, the pastor felt that the story of Gideon was laid on his heart to share a simple but timely message with BFAC: we cannot wait for human resources to advance the Kingdom of God. While our congregation is small in number, we cannot buy into the belief that it takes people to make people – at least not when it comes to God’s Kingdom. Such was the error in Gideon’s day, and in order to remind Israel that God was the victor of the Promised Land, He reduced Israel’s ranks from 32,000 to 300 before allowing them to enter the fight. The call of the Word on our church today is simply to emulate the 300 who got to witness God’s victory: faith, obedience, and expectation!
