Jam. 1:5, 4:2-3; Mt. 7:7-8; Ps. 46:10; Mal. 3:10

Very few of us can jump three feet in the air in a single bound, but many of us could jump up nine four-inch steps. In the same way, God often chooses to accomplish His will on the Earth with numerous steps over a period of time. If we only pray for the long-term outcomes, we may grow impatient or weary in asking, and by the time our prayer is answered, we forgot that we had asked, and God is not praised. So both for God's glory AND our mutual encouragement, the Pastor recommends a simple strategy he gleaned during his visit to Southland Church: pray in steps. This requires more time, because one must reflect and pray even to know what to pray, such that the steps we anticipate may conform to God's own plan. But if we are patient, consistent and SPECIFIC in our prayers, we will see God's Kingdom advance!
