Romans 8 (all); Luke 11:11-13; James 4:7

The Holy Spirit is not a life-enhancing force for a Christian; He is simply life-force. Without Him living in us, we do not belong to Christ, and are not Christian at all. Every Christ-follower should therefore search themselves and the Scriptures, so that they may have certainty that the Spirit lives in them. Drawing primarily on Romans 8, this message is meant to give those who are "Spirit-born" greater joy and confidence, and to give those who are not great cause to go deeper with Jesus. It only takes a few "fingerprints" to know that the Spirit is there, but if you are only marked with a few, perhaps you are limiting the Spirit's access to all of you. (We will look at "quenching" and "grieving" the Spirit next week!)
