In this message, the pastor asks whether he might be approaching the Christian life upside down. As teachers, we tend to assume that if we give people the right knowledge about something, they will grow to love it. So in preaching, we teach the attributes of God through Bible stories, hoping that over time, people will grow to love God and grasp His love for them. But what if we started with love? Watch any child who loves a hobby or a game, and you notice that they need no other incentive to read books and even study statistics about that hobby. Trevor uses this epiphany as another invitation to the Church Renewal discipleship journey, which will start in January. This journey is not a Bible study; it is a group of people learning to hear God's voice. And Trevor predicts that for anyone who will learn to hear God's voice, the first thing people will hear is, "You are my child, I love you, and I'm glad you have chosen to be with me in this moment!"
