In Part 1, we introduced the problem: that sometimes, different authorities clash with one another, putting us in a position where obeying one authority means disobeying another. In Part 2, we learned that all authority can be traced back to the "author" - God the Father. But God bestows His authority on His Son Jesus, who in turn grants authority to His Church. But today, we learn that God has also granted some authority to Satan and demons! They, in turn, confer authority on an assortment of worldly authorities. This fact sheds light upon our original problem: that earthly authorities may compete with, or contradict, divine authority. (Next week, we tackle the question of Christian civil obedience head on.)
